The Formula Rossa ride goes up to 52 meters into the air in its maximum speed where you would be experiencing the 1.7G and then gets you through to various chicanes and bends. The 20,800 horsepower roller coaster will get you to its maximum speed in only 5 seconds where you will be experiencing one of the fastest accelerations ever. To take this ride, you will need to wear protective eye wear due to the extreme wind-force. Even Fernando Alonso, the Ferrari F1 driver is said to be excited about the ride when he said “I can’t wait to have a go on it, It’s true that we drivers are used to speed, but this way I’ll get the chance to share the thrill of doing 240 an hour with my engineers, so they can get a feel for what it’s all about!”
Unveiled during the recently concluded Spanish Grand Prix, the car which are being used in the Formula Rossa ride in Abu Dhabi’s Ferrari World has set the bar higher than any roller coasters anywhere in the world. This is where the Formula 1 styled car gets you up to 240 km/h where the other ride that come pretty close would be the F430 inspired GT Racing Coaster. The latter reaches its top speed at 200km/h. Ferrari World was opened last year in October in Yas Marina Island and has been attracting tourists from the world over and the unveiling of the 8 seater roller coaster would surely bring in more.
