Typically, the 270 is a front-wheel drive model which is seen as the smaller brother of the 350 which is quite obvious considering the smaller engine capacity. This certainly is good news for those of you who always wanted to own a Lexus but had felt that it is a bit too posh and lavish, and would like to have an entry-level SUV which is cheaper but still carries the Lexus brand, then this is the ideal choice for you.

This would be the first time that the RX270 is officially sold in any Asean countries and it would also be the first time that you will get the front-wheel drive model here (and in Asia as well). The bigger RX350 is actually an all-wheel drive model while a front-wheel drive 350 was previously sold in North America.

Under the hood, you will get the 2.7 liter a 1AR-FE engine that comes with Dual VVT-I system. It also gets you the ACIS (Acoustic Control Induction System) that gets you up to 185 horses at 5,800rpm and a torque of 252Nm at 4,200rpm. This is also where you will find that it is equipped with a rigid intake manifold and chain cover, resin gears and twin balancer shafts. Essentially, it is made to operate with RON91 petrol so at the current standard of RON95, that would not be of any problem.

The engine is paired with a 6 speed Super ECT gearbox which they claim to be powered with AI (Artificial Intelligence) while running on 18 inch alloy wheels with 235/60 tyres on its 4 wheel independent suspensions. There are 6 colours to choose from while inside the car, you can get either one of the two colour themes. If you are interested, the RX270 is sold for RM340,000 while you could also go for the navigation package for an additional RM17,000. At RM37,000 less than its bigger sibling, it makes this quite a cool model to have. After all, they have also fitted in the VDIM (Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management) system as well as 10 airbags into this one.
