At the Asian Auto-Auto Industry Awards recently, the Nissan Teana 2.5 V6 was awarded the “Best Local Assembly Executive Sedan”.

The event was attended by some 120 representative from 34 automotive companies in the country and according to Edaran Tan Chong Sdn Bhd, the local distributor and assembler of Nissan cars, it was the quiet cabin, the good engine performance coupled its selling price that got the model the award. Teana came from the word ‘dawn’ a Native American word and is one of the most popular sedan cars in the segment since it was launched.

It has won numerous awards around the region including ‘Indonesian Car of the Year’ in Indonesia, the ‘King of Comfort’ in China while in Singapore, the New Straits’ Times awarded the Teana with “Life’s Motoring Best Buys of the Year”. It was launched in Malaysia in November 2010 where the 2.5 V6 and the 2.0 liter versions are rolled out through their plant in Serendah while a more powerful version, the 3.5 V6 are imported from Japan.
