Apparently, the new Perodua MPV, which has yet to be named is modeled with a Toyota MPV which is a joint manufacturing effort by Toyota Motor Corporation and its subsidiary Daihatsu Motor Company. The MPV, going with the codename D46T is believed to be based on the Toyota Passo Sette, but so far nothing is confirmed yet.
The MPV is set for launch next year and is to be produced in its plant in Indonesia under the PT Astra Daihatsu Motor. According to a spokesman of Toyota, the MPV will be sold in the South East Asia region apart from Indonesia where some 70,000 units are set to be produced and another 10,000 ready to be exported. This model is the one which Perodua plans to launch in September this year. It seemed that the Perodua MPV is somewhat like the Toyota Wish but smaller.
