At the moment, the 408 is not confirmed as the name of the model yet which is based on the 308 hatchback model. It currently has the short code name T73 sedan. This follows the plans by the automotive company which is targeting to make Malaysia its ASEAN manufacturing hub where they are planning to roll out 70,000 units from the Gurun plant.
Peugeot is also planning to export their cars through to neighbours Thailand and Indonesia as well as countries around the Pacific and Africa which uses right-hand drive vehicles. The assembly of the new model is expected to begin in Q2 next year while plans are in place for the launch of the 207 sedan in this year’s Q4.
