Matrade (Malaysian External Trade Development) is working with Jetro (Japan External Trade Organisation) are coordinating in bringing the Malaysian companies to the show. The event puts on show the latest technology adopted in automotive engineering as well as among the players in the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) market too is expected to bring in 80,000 visitors ranging from experts in this industry from both the country and other countries around the world. Matrade announced that Proton will also be showcasing its very popular Exora because it is considered to be quite an engineering achievement for Proton.

Matrade added that the participation of Malaysian companies in the event is part of the Majaico (Malaysia-Japan Automotive Industry Cooperation) project which is part of the agreement between the Malaysian and Japanese government when they signed the Malaysia-Japan Economic Partnership in 2006 to help enhance the automotive industry of Malaysia to be like Japan by the year 2015.
