The Malaysian distributor and assembler of Nissan cars, Edaran Tan Chong Motors Sdn Bhd (ETCM) is reportedly upbeat about the growth prospects after implementing their long-term business plan. According to Datuk Dr Ang Bon Beng, the executive director of ETCM, the company has been able to widen their competition when they successfully filled the D-Segment gap with their own model. This puts them in a position of growth for this year.

He also added that for 2010, the company broke a new record when they recorded RM3.5 billion in revenue and RM322.7 million in pre-tax profit. For that year, the second half was weaker as compared to the first half and they will also be making a new record this year with the number of new models lined up for launch. Their best selling models for 2010 are the Grand Livina and the Nissan Sylphy which collectively accounted for more than 50% of Nissan’s sales last year.
