2009 Mazda 3 MPS provides speed and looks

One of the most significant element of this car would be its acceleration and apart from that, there really are not much more to shout about. Launched 2 years ago, anything above 250 horses would have been considered crazy and out of this world, but ever since then, many competitors have since surpassed that mark and hence given the market a whole new dimension. Think about the Ford Focus RS which is also a hatchback and yet comes with some 300 horses.

In this new version, Mazda has not changed much to the powertrain where the 2.3 liter turbocharged engine is still very much powerful together with models like the Vauxhall Astra VXR and the Renault Sport Megane. One of the upgrades here would be the CO2 emission where they have gone out to meet the Euro 5 regulations, lowering it by 5g/km.

The design too has been changed with a new boot-lid spoiler a nicer looking front and a bigger bonnet. It comes now with a new MPS bodyshell and reduced its weight by about 50kgs. On the road, the engine do boost out the power you would desire which means that it is quick and zippy. Of course, no one can deny its speed if the car gets you from zero to hundred in 5.9 seconds and top speed at 155 mph. Comparatively, the Ford Focus ST takes 6.5 seconds while the Astra takes 6.2 seconds.

The car comes standard with a Climate Control system, Cruise Control, Dynamic Stability control as well as 6 airbags on the side, curtain and the standard dual front ones. You also get an 18 inch alloy wheels while optionally you can get the half-leather trim upholstery and xenon headlights. Spend a bit more and you can enjoy superior audio quality inside with the BOSE powered sound system. If looks mattered, then the chilli red body work of this roadster is sure to get you the looks and glares.
