One of the finer things about the LaCrosse is in its looks. To a certain extent, this car exudes the very qualities which came with the Lexus GS 1993 and with the fine quality of interior, and its modern style you tend o get a feeling that this car is set to be luxurious instead of merely looking good. The entry level of the CX comes fitted with a 3.0 liter V6 engine that gives you up to 255 horsepowers. It is also mated with a 6 speed automatic transmission gearbox. On top of that, you get 17 inch wheels and an in-car entertainment system. A distinctive feature of this car is the elimination of outside noise within the cabin which according to Buick is ‘coffin quiet’, perhaps not the best way to illustrate a fast car like this.
The CXL is a higher version which comes with 18 inch wheels and leather interiors instead of the cloth texture in the CX. This is where Buick reportedly hope to be the cash cow of this model, what with its magnetically assisted power steering, a Haldex All-Wheel Drive system which comes as optional an in-car entertainment screen with LCD monitor. The CXS, which is the top of the range model comes with a 280 horses 3.6 liter V6 engine and 19 inch wheels. It also comes with heated and cooled seats and gets you from zero to hundred in 6.5 seconds, although it doesn’t really feel that much faster than the CXL.
Whichever way you see it, the Buick really is quite a conundrum for GM as they already have quite a handful of brands in their stable and some has come out to criticize its sheer existence, but having said that this car still looks good to look at although it might not be quite the practical car one might like to own.
