2010 John Cooper Works Mini Clubman – bigger and better than the rest

If you know about the Clubman, it is essentially the Mini Cooper that comes with a longer body, 4 doors and of course, a nice boot space as well. And if you know the JCW (John Cooper Works), then you will know that this is the edition where the car is tuned for more power and performance.

It comes with a 1.6 liter inline-four engine paired with a 6 speed manual transmission gearbox that gets you up to 208 horsepower. For any car, over 200 horses is surely fast enough, but for a car this size, over 200 horses is considered somewhat insane. The front wheel drive car is on par with the Volvo C30 and is pretty much quicker than some of its ‘bigger competitors’ like the Mazda3 and the Volkswagen GTi. To rub salt to the competitors’ wounds, it also comes with better fuel economy.

One thing for sure, the Clubman always remind you of a Mini Cooper with a longer tail which gives it that wagon look which to some extent is deemed to be outdated but Mini has always been at the fore-front of revolutionary design and this car looks more contemporary than you can imagine. And with its extra space, this car gives you 3 times more boot space than the original Mini if you really must compare and is larger than that of the C30 as well. It comes with 17 inch alloy wheels and sports seats which states pretty clearly its intent on not being dull. Of course, it also comes with 4 antilock disc brakes and a whole lot of airbags. To count them, you get the side seated mounted airbags, overhead airbags on the first and second rows as well. Apart from that, you also get a stability control system, cruise control, driveline traction control system as well as a nicely designed car from head to toe.
