BMW Malaysia recently brought in the BMW 1 Series M Coup to commemorate the start of the BMW M Track Experience Asia 2012 which was held recently at the SIC (Sepang International Circuit). As the name implies, this constitutes one of the coolest BMWs around as it is the official ‘M’ series models and to make it more exclusive, they are only selling 3 units here.
Currently, it has been reported that 1 unit has already been sold and this is the cool machine that is powered up by an exclusively tuned 3.0 liter inline-six engine paired with a 6 speed manual transmission gearbox. As exclusivity always comes with a price, you can buy it for RM508,800 on-the-road without insurance. At half a million ringgit, it must be something really good and this can be seen through its 340 horsepower engine using only 4.9 seconds to reach the century mark.
Standards on this coupe are 19 inch wheels engulfed within its 245/35 front rubbers while the back gets 265/35 treatment. This is typical of the M3 Competition Package where you will also get its own differential lock system and anti-slip control, ABS, DBC and others. BMW’s proprietary ConnectedDrive is the obvious standard here while inside you get the sports seats wrapped with Boston leather with orange stitching. Cool.
