Targeting the drivers who are adventurers who go-anywhere as well as those who are sports lovers, the ‘Baby Prado’ surely hits the target right and one thing for sure about this is that despite the term ‘Baby’ in this one, it is still pretty large. Hence, you will love the leg room that Toyota has included in the ZR which seemed to be somewhat bigger than those who are not only in the same bracket as the mini-SUVs but also those who are competing with the likes of the standard Prado Land Cruiser.
It comes in 2 variants where you can choose either the SX which is somewhat similar to the original 5 door version while the sporty version comes in the likes of the ZR as mentioned. Both the versions are powered up through the 3.0 liter, 4 cylinder turbo-diesel engine mated to a 5 speed automatic transmission gearbox. The ZR comes with leather seats, CRAWL Control System, 18 inch alloy wheels, a 4 camera MTM (Multi Terrain Monitor), a touch screen navigation system as well as electronic rear differential lock. This gets you up to 127kW and a maximum of 410Nm of torque which is pretty impressive if put head to head with its closest rival, the Mitsubishi Pajero turbo-diesel, 3 door version.
Another cool feature about this ‘baby’ is its towing capacity where it can pull cargo of up to 3,000kilograms. This is 20% more than its ‘bigger sibling’ and to say the least, all you boating and dirt bike enthusiasts would love this facility. Perhaps the coolest feature here would apart from the fact that you can pull boats and jet skis along, there are so much space in it that you can easily fit 5 adults without much problems. Now, that is something to really think about.
