Codenamed F20, BMW showed off their new 2012 BMW 1-Series and this now comes with a new body which is larger which might just give a whole new reputation to the 1 series which is known to be the smaller sibling to the other models and also for being a smaller and compact model.
It now comes with a 2,690mm wheelbase and has a 30 liter more luggage space. At the moment, BMW announced that there will be 2 petrol powered engine which will come in the 1.6 liter 4 twin scroll turbocharged Valvetronic engines while 3 other options are diesel powered ones in a 2.0 liter inline-4 configuration.
The petrol engine on the 116i model will get you up to 136 horses while for the 118i model, you will get a boost of 170 ponies. For the diesel model, the 116d will get 116 horse while the 118d boosts out 143 horses. The top of the range diesel model is the 120d that boost out 184 horses. All the engines are mated with a 6 speed manual transmission gearboxes and come with the Automatic Start & Stop system while if one prefers, there is an 8 speed automatic transmission gearbox available.
