Bufori is a privately onwed company which was started by Anthony, George and Gerry Khouri who are known as The Khouri Brothers. It is based in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and is one of the few hand-built automotive brands around today.
Inspired by the American coupes of the 1930s, the company is run by the Brothers which started out as a personal passion. Bufori is an acronym for Beautiful, Unique, Funtastic, Original, Romantic, Irresistible. As the brothers were of Australian Lebanese origins, the company was registered in Australia before all the manufacturing and operations were moved to Malaysia in 1998 to Kepong.
This facility is able to produce up to 300 units annually that rolls out hand-built vehicles carved out of carbon-fiber body and specifically tailored to the customer’s needs. Among the models made popular by Bufori include the MK I and MK II while its most recent model is the Bufori Geneva which is labelled as a ‘Luxury Saloon’ powered up by a Chrysler V8 engine. It got its name after it was introduced at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show.
