Citroen is one of the automotive brands which are very popular around the world. It is actually one of the oldest automotive brands which were founded in 1919. The French automotive giant was the brainchild of Andre Citroen known for its technologically advanced systems in the automotive industry.

Today, Citroen markets commercial vehicles around the world as well as a wide range of automotive cars in countries like the United States and around European and Asia. It was reported that in 2013, Citroen rolled out more than 1.2 million vehicles. The company is owned by PSA Peugeot Citroen, another French automotive giant.

Unknown to many, Citroen was actually the first company to mass produce cars outside the United States when it was established and it would continue to grow into becoming the largest car manufacturer in Europe then. At the same time, Citroen was actually the fourth largest car manufacturer in the world and was known for its innovative and revolutionary engineering in automotive technologies of which some have been adopted by several top car manufacturers in the world ever since.

While Citroen has been hugely successful in countries around Europe and some in Asia, it has not been able to duplicate its success in the Malaysian market. In the 1990s, Citroen worked with local car manufacturer to assemble and rebadge the Citroen AX into the Proton Tiara. Today, Citroen markets its own cars under Naza Euro Motors, a subsidiary of Naza Group where the Citroen DS3, DS4 and DS5 are currently available for the local consumers.
