CVT version of Honda CR-Z now available in Malaysia

Following the recent launch of the face-lifted Honda City, Honda Malaysia has also brought another version of the hybrid vehicle, the Honda CR-Z.

It now comes with the CVT transmission which will be priced at RM119,000 on-the-road. This means that is it is RM4,000 more expensive than the current version which comes with a 6 speed manual transmission gearbox.

Basically, the new CVT powered CR-Z is the same as the current model where with the CVT, it comes with paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel to let you go ‘manual’ if you like. Coming with a 3 year or 100,000 km warranty, the battery pack comes with a longer package which is 5 years or 140,000km. Under the hood is the 1.5 litre LEA SOHC i-VTEC engine and its brushless DC electric motor which comes with their own IPU (Intelligent Power Unit).

As with the current model, the CRZ comes with 3 modes for driving which are Sport, Normal and Econ modes respectively which are catered to different types of driving conditions. Safety features include dual front airbags, side and side curtain airbags that come with Occupant Position Detection System as well as ABS, BA, EBD and VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist).
