After many months of anticipation and rumours going around, MMM (Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia), the distributor of Mitsubishi cars in Malaysia has finally launched their Mitsubishi Mirage.
The launch event for the compact car was officiated by Mr Osamu Masuko, the president of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation Japan which will come in 3 versions. The entry model is the GL, 5-speed transmission Mirage priced at RM55,583 while the CVT GL is priced at RM60,453 and the CVT GS, which is the top of the range model is priced at RM63,375 all of which are on-the-road not including insurance.
Basically, the Mitsubishi Mirage comes with a 1.2 liter, 3 cylinder engine with their own very reputable MIVEC and the price point will surely be competing against the likes of the Suzuki Swift and Malaysia’s most popular compact car, Perodua Myvi. Basically, the base line model will be pretty basic while the top-spec one comes with keyless Smart Key entry with push start button as well as leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob.
All 3 versions come with a double-din audio system that supports USB, iPod and AUX interface while the GS gets more goodies on the outside. There are 2 airbags included while other standard features include ABS, EBD, ISOFIX and pre-tensioner belts.
