She said that apart from that, it is also to meet the demand for natural gas fuel, particularly for taxi drivers in and around the Klang Valley. At the moment, there are 144 NGV stations which are operational of which a majority of them are situated in the Klang Valley. She also said that 39 more are currently under construction while locations are being identified for 17 others.
The government is also taking up various initiatives to encourage vehicles to use NGVs which include providing 100% import duty exemption for conversion kits for NGV service centers. On top of that, a 25% discount on road tax are also provided for vehicles using bi-fuel or dual-fuel while vehicle using NGV only engines are given a 50% discount.
