The Great Wall car brand from China has entered the Malaysian market and this will surely give affordable vehicles a run for their money after the introduction of 2 of their models.
Brought in by Green Oranges Sdn Bhd, the franchise holder of the brand here, they will be selling the Haval H5 SUV and the Wingle pick-up truck here.
The 2 models are currently on sale in the Australian and European markets which means that despite the affordable price tag, they also adhere to the strict safety regulations there. The Haval H5 is typically a 5 seater SUV for 5 people and is bigger than the current Chery Tiggo, another china brand here. On top of that, it is also bigger and longer as compared to other SUVs currently on sale here. It is equipped with the 2.0 TCI VGT (Variable Geometry Turbo) engine that gets you up to 148 horses paired with a 5 speed Shiftronic automatic transmission gearbox. Priced at RM120k, it is quite a steal considering that they are competing with the likes of the Hyundai Santa Fe and the Chevrolet Captiva.
The Wingle double cab pick-up truck on the other hand is packed with a 2.5 liter common-rail engine that boost out 107 horses paired with a 5 speed manual transmission gearbox that allows you to choose between the 4X2 or 4X4 versions respectively. The price is the best selling point here where it is sold for RM59,888 for the 4×2 and RM69,888 for the 4×4 respectively.
