Honda Civic 2.0S – Still lovely after all these years

For less than RM130,000, the Honda Civic is seen as one of the best buys of its categories. You might argue otherwise if you are looking at economy or practicality like the recently launched Chevrolet Cruze, but if it pure quality and performance you are after, the Civic is a class on its own. One thing for sure, the Civic has come a long way into the roads and the hearts of the buyers since its early humble beetle like design.

The Civic 2.0S has a face-lift recently where it came with a new set of Modulo accessories where they have included new designs on its front, side and rear skirts as well as a nice handsome looking bootlid spoiler. Having said that it is below RM130k, it is actually priced at RM129,980.00 on the road inclusive of insurance. Under the hood is the internationally acclaimed 2.0 liter K20Z2 inline4, i-VTEC DOHC engine that comes with a 153 horspower at 6,500rpm and a torque of 188Nm at 4,500rpm paired with a 5 speed automatic transmission gearbox while paddle shifters are fitted in with the higher version. At its range and segment, the Mitsubishi Lancer GT is probably the only competitor to boost out such performance.

You would be delighted to know that the current design is well into its fifth year even if there was a face lift recently. The whole idea of the face lift was to give it a continuous upgrading looks so that the design do not go stale. But the Civic is not always about looks where its design usually complement its superiority in road handling and performance. Other standard equipments here include the digital tachometer as well as climate control while entertainment is provided for through its CD changer, MP3/WMA player. At less than RM130k (literally), the Civic surely is worth anyone’s money.
