Honda Malaysia (HM) has broken the record for monthly sales in Malaysia for the month of July.
Coming back from a challenging period that saw its production plant halted last year is no easy feat and to come back this strongly speaks volumes for the Japanese automotive giant in Malaysia.
In July 2012, the total units of Honda cars sold in Malaysia was recorded at 5,045 units and according to Yoichiro Ueno, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Malaysia and this surely presents itself as a positive move forward since starting the year with limited supply from its Melaka plant after the recent tragedy in Japan and Thailand.
Honda Malaysia also opened a new warehouse earlier this year and to date, it has already rolled out 8 new models which include the face-lifted Honda Insight, the CRZ CVT, the Honda Freed S as well as the facelifted Honda City. Apart from that, they also brought in a host of hybrid models like the Jazz Hybrid, the Civic Hybrid which joined the new Civic product lines. The record sales saw the new Honda Civic receiving some very overwhelming response with around 3,000 units booked while the City remains the best selling model which at 2,217 units, constitutes more than 40% of the total Hondas sold.
