According to Hyundai, they are targeting this model to adopt a more ‘dynamic, sporty profile’ which is aligned to what the reputation of the brand currently which is a ‘modern, progressive manufacturer’. Looking at the image, one can expect this new model come with a more sleek design which is not common among MPVs (Multi Purpose Vehicles) and somehow is known as the sister model to the Kia Venga albeit some styling changes.
Developed and designed at Hyundai’s European research and development plant in Germany at Russelsheim, the ix20 would be the second European model to come out. The first one is the ix35 which was designed using the new ‘fluidic sculpture’ mantra and this would be one of the first from Hyundai that has the crossover DNA where it is meant to provide a functional model that provides a dynamic and fun to drive experience for the driver.
Under the hood, you will get a few choices where you could choose either the petrol or diesel versions where the petrol ones come either the 1.4 liter or 1.6 liter machines while the diesel version comes with a 1.4 liter engine. On top of that, a 5 year unlimited mileage warranty is also included. Apart from the new ix20 MPV, Hyundai will also be showcasing the new i10 which has also been very well received since its launch not too long ago.
