Hyundai shows off ix20, most likely the Matrix replacement for Europe

But being an MPV does not necessarily mean that it sits 7 people because this model actually sits 5, much like the Matrix as well as the Kia Venga (which is said to be the restyled version). Having said that, it is a bigger version of the i20 which is the B-segment supermini model. This comes with a 2,615mm wheelbase, which is wider than the Honda Jazz which gives you only 2,500mm. In terms of size, the Jazz is only 3.9meters while the ix20 is 4.1 meters long.

Of course, with the new design direction from all the Korean carmakers these days, you can surely expect the more fluidic designs and the ix20 is no different. They are looking to target the European market first with this one (which explains why it is debuting in France) before any other markets.

It comes with 4 power plants of which 2 are petrol engines and another 2 which are diesel powered ones. In terms of safety features, you can get the standard ABS, SEP, the Hill Start Assist system and many more which are the standard you must have if you are to target the European roads. According to Hyundai, they are targeting to roll out some 55,000 units each year.

And of course, there is the ‘i’ family models which have been receiving some very favourable response lately and this is where you can almost be assured of comfort, quality and style. they are giving new buyers up to 5 years in warranty and an unlimited mileage too. The ix20 is set to roll out from their new European manufacturing plant in the Czech Republic in Nosovice. So, hang on to your seats and soon it might just make its way here.
