Kia releases first production EV, the Kia Ray EV

 

Korean automotive giant has released the revolutionary Ray EV (Electric Vehicle) and this would be the first EV to make it into production from the country.

 

It will be sold only in South Korea and it follows the recently launched 1.0 liter gasoline Ray CUV which was released not too long ago. This car is said to be able to go up to 139 km on a single charge where it will be powered by a 50kW electric motor on the front wheels as well as a 16.4 kWh lithium-ion battery pack reported to be able to last for at least 10 years.

Taking 15.9 seconds to reach the century mark, the EV top speeds at 130km/h and takes 6 hours to reach fully charged capacity. This can be done through the common 220V household power plugs while for situation where you need a quick charge, it will only take 25 minutes.

It comes with 14 inch allow wheels as well as the cool looking ‘Zero Emissions EV’ emblem while you are aware of any vehicle information through the display system here that tells you how much longer you have before you need to recharge. Apart from that, it also tells you where is the nearest charging stations, so you need not have to worry. This car is said to be extremely silent while it comes with 6 airbags and Hill Assist Control system too.
