Lexus Malaysia, the Lexus marketing arm of Malaysia, a subsidiary of UMW Toyota has brought in the new updated versions of their Lexus IS 250 and IS 250 Luxury for the local industry. The new IS 250 now comes with HID headlights which also has daytime running lights and washers and new designed front bumpers and front grille as well. On top of that, it also comes with new 17 inch 10 spoke alloy wheels where they have also provided 2 different colour schemes for the inside too.
Inside the IS 250, you will also like its new metallic accents on the bezel of the steering wheel, the meter rings, its paddle shifters as well as the glove compartment shutter which gives it an extravagant and more luxurious look. The in-car entertainment is channelled through its 8 speaker audio system while the Luxury version gets you 5 speakers more. But that is not all for paying RM31k more. The IS 250 is priced at RM 282,386.20 OTR with insurance while the Luxury version is sold for RM 313,166.20 where you also get Bluetooth connectivity too.
Also on the Luxury version, if you pay another RM23,000 you can get the ‘Navigation Package’ option that comes with a 14 speaker, 10 channel DVD system powered up by the Mark Levinson Premium Surround Sound system. On top of that, you also get a reverse camera on the rear, a 7 inch touch screen display system and a navigation system that is pre-loaded with maps in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. If you like, you can also add in an Rm7k moonroof as well.
Power is generated out through its 2.5 liter D4, twin-cam direct injection engine paired with a 6 speed super ECT transmission gearbox. Boosting out 205 horsepower, this workhorse takes only 8.4 seconds to reach the century mark. In terms of safety features, it comes with 8 airbags which also include the ones for the knees for the front passengers. They have also included the VDIM (Vehicle Dynamic Integrated Management) system as well. Other standards here include ABS and a Braking Assist system while Traction Control too is included. Rain sensor wipers are fitted in for better convenience and safety as well.
