Mahindra and Renault confident of taking over Ssangyong

Apart from Mahindra and Renault, Ruia Group, who owns the India’s chapter of Dunlop and SM Group, a Korean aluminum producer are also those interest in Ssangyong. The deal is reported to cost about USD300 to 500 million and Mahindra believes that their intention to launch their SUVs in the United States would surely be boosted with the acquisition of the company which holds the Mercedes Benz powered Rexton and the Kyron.

They recently purchased REVA electric, a Bangalore based company that produces EVs (Electric Vehicles) which pretty much sums up Mahindra’s intention to become a major force in the automotive market globally.
