Mahindra buys REVA to further boost EV production

Under their Sustainable Mobility Initiative, Mahindra has been developing their own eco-friendly technology and much of these have been transferred to the Scorpio diesel hybrid and the Alfa hydrogen models. They are also planning to launch a full bio-diesel model as well as an electric Maxximo, which is a mini truck. The ownership of REVA would mean that their technology will be used in Mahindra’s eco-friendly models.

So far, REVA is reported to have the largest EV fleet around the world with its products marketed in 24 countries where it began in 2004 in London when it was marketed as G-Wiz. In last year’s Frankfurt auto show, they showed off their NXR and NXG models, which were their next generation electric cars as well as their technology.
