After rumours and speculations, it is confirmed and Malaysian roads are now set for the new BMW 1-Series Coupe and Convertible models respectively.
The 1 Series Coupe will come in the 135i version while the Convertible version comes in the 120i model which replaces the previous line. According to BMW Group Malaysia, there will be a limited number of each models being sold here so that they remain exclusive. The previous edition saw the company bringing only 30 units of the BMW 135i Coupe and the 120i Convertible where the company aims to ensure that they are in the premium segment. The 135i Coupe is sold for RM423,800 while the RM319,800 is the price of the 120i on the road, without insurance
Compared to the previous versions, it now comes with headlights and taillights of the new design language while you also get 2 new colours namely Marrakesh Brown and the Vermilion Red respectively. Boston leather is wrapped on the insides while SunReflective Technology is used on the leather of the convertible which is essential considering those who like to drive with the top down.
The Coupe comes with a 3.0 liter in-line six engine that boosts out 306 horses while the Convertible comes with 156 horses. Convertible is no bruiser, but a gentle cruiser – its 156 hp four-pot pulling the car to 100 km/h in 10 seconds which takes 22 seconds for the top to roll up or down.
