Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) recently launched their new C300 AMG sports package model under the Avantgarde trim. This would be another of its locally assembled W204 C-Class model which is the first 3.0 liter C-Class model to roll out of the Malaysian plant.
To know what you are up for, especially if you want to identify its Avantgarde trim coupled with the AMG Sports Package, you can easily see the emblem embossed across the body as well as the twin exhaust tailpipes shooting majestically in the rear. Apart from that you will also make not mistake of its front and rear aprons as well as the neatly assembled side skirts too.
Under the hood, you will get the M272 3.0 liter V6 engine paired with the 7G-tronic seven speed automatic gearbox. This is where you will get up to 231 horse at 6,000rpm and 300Nm of torque at 2,500 to 5,000 rpm. Translated further, this is where you get a combined fuel consumption of about 9.4 to 9.6 per 100 kilomters. Even with that economical consumption, they never shortchange you for speed as it takes you only 7.2 seconds from zero to hundred. For these specs alone, the RM320,888 seemed pretty justified and well worth it.
From the AMG design, you will get lower suspensions where they fitted in shorter springs with thicker stabilizer bars where this version is about 15mm lower than the standard C200 CGI Elegance model. Apart from that, you will also get 18 inch AMG designed alloy wheels with 2 different sets of tyres. In front are the 225/40 series while the 255/35 series are fitted in the rear for better handling.
According to MBM, as mentioned, this would be the most powerful engine ever assembled in Malaysia and at 3.0 liter is also the biggest and the AMG tag surely makes it one attractive model for anyone to consider. Furthermore, it top speeds at 246km/h and comes with the Dynamic Handling Package as well. This is where you will get either the Sports or Comfort mode driving systems. Comfort mode is pretty much the default driving system while the Sports mode allows more stability when driving in higher speeds and stiffens the shock absorbers. If you are a fan of the Benz and if you are a fan of the C-Class, then this might just be your ideal choice.
