Mini gets a face-lift come September

And to add to its ‘coolness’, the new Xenon HID lamps too comes with adaptive lighting where its beam angle will change based on the direction of the steering you are moving towards. Inside the new version, you also get new looking controls for the audio system and the air-conditioning where it is now better placed and surely more ergonomic. It also now comes with iPod connectivity provided for with the new high-resolution colour display which is located in the middle of the dashboard.

As for the engine, as mentioned are the diesel ones where they too are given a new breathe of life. The Mini One D, which comes with a 90 horsepower and its bigger ‘brother’, the Mini Cooper D that comes with 112 horses will be efficient as well as economical. Both the engines comes with a 3.8 liters per 100 kilometers average fuel consumption. For this round, Mini will also be introducing its first open top diesel version in its Mini Cooper D Convertible and a new diesel engine is in store for the Mini One D Clubman as well.

At the moment, no news on whether the new version will arrive at our shores where they will start rolling out on the 18th of September so for now, Malaysians would have to be contented with the recently face-lifted Mini Cooper S that comes with the new Valvetronic turbo charged engine. That of course is the petrol powered machine where there aren’t any diesel powered Minis here as yet. Keep your fingers crossed and if everything goes right, the new ones might just arrive to our roads and highways before the turn of the year.
