Mitsubishi i-MiEV is first all-electric vehicle launched in Malaysia

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia recently launched the i-MiEV for the local market. This means that Malaysia now has its first all-electric vehicle which will be sold for RM139,888 on-the-road. This price is considered quite affordable given that the model enjoys the full tax exemption as provided by the Malaysian government.

The i-MiEV (Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle) is an exciting vehicle which has been around for a few years now in other parts of the world. As it is an electric vehicle, you can be assured that it comes with a lot of cost-savings.
For starters, the i-MiEV do not require any petrol cost which means that you are now free from going to the likes of Petronas, Shell or Petron. For a full charge that will get you to 150kilometers, you only need to fork out RM3.50 in electricity. That is if you pay for a full charge as you do not always use out all the battery power. There are currently free charging services in the car parks of Lot 10 and KLCC which means further savings.

Mitsubishi Malaysia provides a 5-years warranty and free service of up to 100,000km which will be very minimal as the engine does not need lubricants and such. Road tax is at the lowest allowed for a car which is only RM10 per year.
