New production 2010 Chevrolet Aveo to be unveiled this month

GM will be showcasing the new production version of their new Aveo at the upcoming Paris Motor Show which is set to be launched in autumn next year. This will be one of the four models which Chevrolet will be showing off in the show, of which another one is the widely anticipated Chevrolet Cruze hatchback. The other one is the Orlando MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) which is also set to make its debut then.

Earlier this year, Chevrolet also put on show the Aveo RS at the Detroit and Geneva Motor Shows respectively where they have put in a newly designed version of the Aveo which is one of the most sellable models under the Chevrolet brand. The design of the new Aveo somewhat mirrors that of the Spark which was launched not too long ago and this new hatch look will surely appeal to the younger buyers while it could also be passed on as a family oriented vehicle with its large space inside and its practical elements.

An extensive development programme produces the new Aveo where it is set to launch in Europe, and will be tailored for each of the markets there accordingly. The president and managing director of Chevrolet Europe, Wayne Brannon said that this is an exciting time for het company as they are looking to launch their models in the MPV and compact classes and the Aveo to compete in the small cars category.

Under the hood, the Aveo comes with petrol or diesel engines where the you will get either the 1.2 liter or the 1.4 liter petrol engines that gets you 86 and 100 horses respectively while the diesel variants in its 1.3 liter engines that gets you to either 75 or 95 horses. Depending on the engine variant, you will get either the 5 or 6 speed manual transmission gearboxes although the 1.4 version has an option to fit in the 6 speed automatic transmission gearbox. With Naza Group actively distributing Chevrolet cars in the country, you can expect them to bring this model into our market pretty soon.
