The Volvo S80 T5 has arrived to our shores. Volvo Car Malaysia recently launched the new replacement model for the S80 2.5T model which is their flagship model in Malaysia.
It now comes with 2 variants namely the S80 T5 Powershift and the T5 Exclusive Powershift which comes with a 4 cylinder 2.0 liter turbocharged engine with direct injection and twin variable camshafts paired with a 6 speed Powershift transmission gearbox. This is where it boosts out 240 horses that take 7.7 seconds to reach the hundred mark and top speeding at 230 km/h.
Basically, the engine fitted in both the variant are the same and the difference really are in what comes as accompanying accessories and equipments. The Exclusive version obviously gets more interesting and nicer stuff like the Pedestrian Detection and the Collision Warning with Full Auto Brake systems respectively, all new and state-of-the-art safety additions. On the Exclusive, if you drive above 30km/h, the ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) comes into play where it will automatically adjust your distance with the vehicle in front of you. Found in both the version are the standards like ABS, SIPS, IDIS and FBS or Fading Brake Support. The S80 T5 is sold for RM268,000 while for RM295,000 you can own the Exclusive model.
