Hitting the markets in the next couple of month, Kia’s sedan the Optima gained a major face lift and was displayed at the New York Auto Show. The new version comes with a 2.4 litre gas engine and boosts at 175 horsepower and 169 lb-ft of torque. its other version, the 2.7 liter still comes with the 5 speed automatic specs with Kia’s Sportmatic cluthcless shifting. The introduction of this model is aimed at giving competitors Honda Accord, Ford Fusion, Chevrolet Malibu, Hyundai Sonata and the Camry a run for their money.
Standard accessories include SIRIUS satellite radio capability, a USB port and the DVD navigation system, which is a new introduction for the KIA Optima. Exteriorly, not much has changed in this version except for perhapst the more slic head and tailights, some minor shifts around the lines by the side of the vehicle. Tom Loveless, the Vice President of KMA Sales is optimistice with the new model, saying “Optima is in a strong position to change the way consumers think about midsize sedan offerings.
