Nissan Juke rolls out from production

Revealed for the first time in the 2009 Geneva Motor Show as the Qazana, the production version would still carry some of its concept features. This year’s edition of the Geneva Motor Show is where the Juke will be revealed. It looks as if the Juke epitomizes the term crossover to the fullest. It has the looks that mirror a sports car, the space of an SUV, the power of a usual fast car and surely the reputation of a quality brand.

Released as an SUV/Coupe model, this models seemed to have taken its design from the super car GT-R put onto the body of this mini-SUV. It is powered up with 3 engine variants, where the 1.6 liter comes in petrol or diesel while the 1.5 liter one comes only in diesel mated with a six speed manual transmission gearbox. Where this is concerned, the 1.6 liter version gets you 117horsepower with a turbo-charged 190 horsepower available.

The 1.6 liter engines would also be mated to either a CVT (Continously Variable Transmission) gearbox or a 5 speed manual one. You can also opt for either the front-wheel drive or the all-wheel drive system known as the ALL-Mode 4×4-I system. The car is expected to start selling in Japan, Europe and the US and hopefully it would make its way into our shores soon.

Targeted to the young, sporty and vibrant driver, Nissan has adopted a more aggressive outlook to this SUV as compared to its ‘bigger’ siblings where it comes with nice looking front grills, the large headlights as well as the loud and commanding Nissan emblem. Inside the car, space is surely abundant for 5 passengers to sit comfortably. Like it or not, you can surely expect the Juke to be more than just an SUV or a crossover of some car. In fact, it would surely give other cars in this segment, like the Toyota RAV4 or the Honda CRV something to worry about.
