Only 400 units of the new top of the range Subaru R205 planned for production

Developed based on the WRX STI Spec C version, this means that it comes with the STI-tuned accessories which have made it such a legend all this while. This means that you get the STI-customized strut tower bar, coil springs, dampers and such. the 6 speed manual transmission gearbox and its 2.0 liter horizontally-opposed 4 cylinder DOHC 16 valve turbocharged system means you get up to 320 hoses and 431 Nm of torque.

Launched as a Special performance version of the Impreza, this is set to be the top of the range version for the WRX STI model line. At the moment, Subaru reported that as this is considered a ‘special’ model, there will only be 400 units in the planned production and no news on whether it will be mass produced anytime soon.

The R205 comes not as a new model but has a reputation to protect where it went through some rigorous testing including verification tests on its parts where the R205 participated in the 24 hour Nurburgring race in 2009 and the STI completed successfully especially being a ‘Road Sport’ variant. Parts that are included in this model include Brembo 6 pot brake calipers embossed with the silver STI logo and specially designed by STI 18 inch aluminum wheels. The R205’s distinctive features here would be the Engine Control Unit (ECU), an R205 exhaust pipe, twin scroll turbocharger with flexible type ball bearings for the turbine axle bearing, front stabilizer and sport muffler.

Of course, the general outlook of the car also have been given a quick change to reflect the ‘Road Sportiness’ where aerodynamics are enhanced with a new front under spoiler, read under spoiler and black rear spoilers. You will also get other cools stuffs here like the R205 side sill plate and R205 serial number plate R205 badges on front grille and rear gate and such. in other words, the R205 would be a must-have for any Subaru lover.
