If you are one of those who are looking thinking to buy one of those compact cars and is considering the Perodua Viva, then good news for you as the company had recently launched the Perodua Viva Elite Exclusive Edition. This is where you will get new enhancements and upgrades both on its exteriors and interiors.
For starters, you will get some nice leather upholstery inside where they have also given you some new looking stitching and embroidered details. You will also get a specially designed leather wrapped 3 spoke steering wheel as well as silver trims circling around the doors and the shifter. Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh, the Managing Director of Perodua (Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd) launched the new variant in conjunction with the opening of the 2S center in Puchong recently.
Since its launch in July last year, the Viva Elite has become the best selling model of the Viva and with the new launch, Perodua is upbeat and confident that they will further enhance their standings in the compact car segment. Aminar said that the NKEA (National Key Economic Areas) implemented by the government would surely contribute to the growing motor industry of Malaysia. Hence they have revised their target to hit 185,000 units this year instead of the previously announced 176,000 units.
The new variant will be sold at RM42,000 on the road where it is painted with a new body colour called Classy Purple. Perodua is looking to target first car buyers as well as families who are looking for an additional car which is practical and economical. Apart from the new colour, you could also get the new variant in either ivory white or midnight blue. Aminar added that they are targeting to sell 600 units of the Exclusive Edition. He also reported that since the Viva was launched in 2007, sales have been on the upward trend where they have now sold more than 240,000 units.
This year alone, they have already sold 58,000 units for the first 10 months through all its variants. They have put in a new Exclusive Edition emblem on its rear and with the dark-coloured alloy wheels, this would surely stand out among the Viva Elite crowd. For comparison, Perodua is looking to position this between the Viva Elite A/T which is sold for RM40,900 and the top of the range Viva Elite EZi A/T which is priced at RM44,900.
