Petronas drivers Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher to meet the fans and show their stuff

They will be giving viewers a demonstration on an F1 car at 5.30 in the evening tomorrow together with the other 2 Petronas sponsored teams which are Petronas Yamaha and Formula Xperience teams respectively. Since starting their involvement in the Formula 1, Petronas had staged 2 other street demonstrations in the capital which were in 1999 and 2005.

This time around, the demonstration will be held on Wednesday while Tuesday will be the ‘Meet the Fans’ session to be held at 6pm at the Petronas Pit Pulse mainstage in the parking areas of Jalan Binjai. Apart from Schumacher and Rosberg, third driver Nick Heidfeld and Ross Brawn the team principal will also be present.

The Pit Pulse event is Petronas’ campaign to build the excitement leading to the Malaysian Grand Prix in Sepang. There are exhibitions, Petronas go-kart and F1 simulator competitions while performances by local artistes like Jaclyn Victor, LoveMeBuctch, Stacy, Hujan, Najwa, Dayang Nurfaizah and others. Dina and Bunkface are expected to perform at the meet the fans session.

Members of the public who wish to attend the street demo are advised that the roads around the area being Jalan Binjai and Lorong Kuda will be closed from 2pm to 7.30pm while the surrounding roads too will not be accessible. They are access roads leading the KLCC underpass, the tunnel towards Suria KLCC parking from Jalan Tun Razak (north-bound), leading to Suria KLCC parking tunnel and Jalan Binjai from Jalan Tun Razak (south-bound). The access roads from the intersection of Jalan Kia Peng, Jalan Conlay and Jalan Tun Razak leading towards Jalan Binjai and roads from Jalan Binjai leading to Persiaran KLCC up to traffic lights fronting PNB Darby Park too will be closed as well. Therefore, you are advised to get there early and to make your way through alternative routes to Suria KLCC.
