So the 308 GTi is typically a sporty hatchback version of the 308 and it is meant for day to day driving for the young and hip as well as the family oriented driver and it is also very environmental friendly which surely is a plus point these days. In saying so, its 1.6 liter THP engine comes with fuel consumption of only 6.9 liters per 100kilometers with CO2 emission at 159g/km.
The engine boosts out some 200 horsepower between 5,550 to 6,800rpm and a maximum torque of 275Nm between 1,700 and 4,500rpm. Mated to a 6 speed manual transmission gearbox, it comes with the very sought after THP or Twin-Scroll turbocharger and direct petrol injection system as well as its VTi (Variable Valve Lift and Valve Timing) systems respectively. One thing about this car is its distinctive engine sound which is enhanced using its Sound System technology.
It comes with 18 inches 225/40R18 tyres which is meant to deliver that stability for the best driving experience. Apart from that you also get the newly designed front bumper lower skirts, rear spoilers, twin chrome exhaust pipes, the very distinctive and pretty much trademarked GTi emblems around the car and such.
Apart from being a ‘sporty’ car in nature, it also delivers a lot of comfort for the passenger because being hatchback, it is not one which is short that causes neck-aches, cool ergonomical knobs and buttons all around the inside and the standard safety features as well. The car is scheduled to be launched in France this coming June and surely this would be a model that many would be looking forward to since it rides along the success of its popular siblings, the 308. So hang on tight for we might just be seeing it coming to our shores soon after that.
