Peugeot rolls out the race ready road car, the Peugeot 208 R2 Rally Car

 

For all you speed lovers, good news. French automaker Peugeot will be launching the Peugeot 208 R2 Rally car which will be made road worthy.

Of course, this model is specifically made for the European market which has been developed since last year where it will be driven for competition in the Tour de Corse in France.

Peugeot has ensured that the reliability of the car is enhanced to ensure that it is ready for the roads where they have put in more efforts for the electrics and transmission. This car will be lighter while it comes with the wheelbase of the stock 208 and is further strengthened with the welded roll cage. Under the hood is the 1.6 liter VTi engine that pushes out 185 ponies which according to the company is a new competition version of the widely popular engine.

To ensure that the engine is more driver-friendly, they have worked with Sodemo with more focus on the flexibility in which it comes with a 5-speed manual transmission gearbox with steering column mounted sequential lever. The steering wheel also comes with a hydraulic system while coming in as standard include the single Alcon calliper with ventilated discs. It is set for the market in Europe which means it is not coming our shores anytime soon but it surely is a nice car to fantasize about.
