Honda Malaysia has announced that the company is running a ‘Product Update Campaign’ which will involve 3 of its models in Malaysia.
The move was to ‘rectify issues’ and this will cover the Honda Civic manufactured in 2006 to 2008, the Honda City manufactured from 2006 to 2007 and the Honda Jazz from 2005 to 2007. According to the company, this was necessary as they are looking to implement measures to prevent against ‘undesired technical issues’.
Some Honda Civic units have reported oil leakage from the power steering feed hose which is caused by the heat here and Honda said that they will replace the material for the feed hose which are more resistance to heat. This will involve 16,537 units of the model.
As for the City and the Jazz, Honda Malaysia will be replacing a countermeasure power window switch as these models have a possible failure on this switch which could cause a burnt smell resulting from a minor short-circuit. There will be 20,949 units of City and 2,970 Jazz units involved for this exercise.
All the replacement of the parts and any labour services will be free of charge and fully borne by the company and that the exercise will be carried out when the parts are ready. It also adds that all the current models are not affected by any of these issues and drivers can be rest assured.
