Promising outlook for Naza’s Kia Sorento and Peugeot 5008

Malaysian automotive giant Naza Group is looking for a positive outlook with their new models which were launched recently prior to and during the currently on-going KLIMS (Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show) 2010. Hafiz Syed Abu Bakar, the Chief Operating Officer of Naza Kia Malaysia Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Kia cars in the country said that they are targeting to sell 150 units of the new 2011 Sorento.

He said that the new SUV will start hitting the roads by January 2 and with the positive response they received since its launch, where the company received 251 bookings, the company is confident that their monthly target could be easily reached. The Sorento is currently doing very well in other markets particularly in the United States and in Europe where the demand for 7 seater SUVs are fast rising.

The award winning SUV has already garnered very positive response with its new design language and high performance powertrain. In general, the company is targeting to roll out 18,000 Kia cars for 2011 with 4 to 5 new models in the pipeline to be launched. Naza Kia, who launched the latest Sorento at the Motor Show also showcased their latest Optima, the Forte Koup and the Cadenza at the event.

On the other hand, Nasim Sdn Bhd, another subsidiary of Naza Group in charge of the Peugeot brand launched their widely anticipated Peugeot 5008 where they are targeting to sell 100 units monthly. The new award winning Peugeot 5008 is priced at RM159,888 and is the brand’s model to compete in the highly demanded MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) segment. According to SM Nasaruddin SM Nasimuddin, the chief executive officer of Nasim, the 5008 too has received very positive response where they have already received 10 bookings since the announcement of the price. He said that the new 7 seater MPV will be available starting February 2011. The company, which recently launched their 207 sedan is aiming to sell 6,700 units for 2011.
