Proton Satria Neo CPS now available in Indonesia, targeting the racing fans

The Proton Satria Neo is one of the flagship models under Proton and was one of the models which was fitted with the Campro CPS (Cam Profile Switching) engine system. The stock version (Proton Neo) was first introduced in Indonesia 3 years ago.

Ricky too, the President and Director of Proton Edar Indonesia launched the model at the Mall Kelapa Gading 2 in northern Jakarta said after the launch that they have already received at least 1 booking for the sporty vehicle. The Satria Neo CPS comes with a 1.6 liter engine which is fitted with the Proton trademarked 16 valve Campro CPS DOHC engine that adopts VIM (Variable Intake Manifold) technology which gives it more response and is more fuel efficient.

According to Mazlan Mohd Zain, the Marketing General Manager of Proton Edar Indonesia, an introductory offer is now available for anyone interested to buy the facelift model where one can get the manual model for Rp188 million while the automatic transmission model is going for Rp198 million respectively and that they are looking at buyers who are into high-performance cars and those who are of course into speed as well.

The Indonesia arm of Proton Edar has been doing well in its market where as of August 2010, they have sold 1,500 units of Proton cars so far where they are looking to achieve their target of selling 3,500 units of Proton car across all models by March 2011 when their financial year ends. Out of the 1,500 units sold, 60% comes from the recently launched and widely popular MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle), the Proton Exora manual version. The rest of the models being sold in Indonesia are the Savvy, the Gen 2, Gen 2 Persona, Waja, Wira, Saga, Persona Elegance and Exora President.

Also at the launch in Jakarat were Chris Atkinson, the rally car driver in the Proton Satria Neo at the Super2000 rally and Qori Sandioriva, the Puteri Indonesia 2009 who graced the event where Atkinson provided entertainment when he did a demonstration on the Satria Neo S2000. The performance involved bringing with him 17 Indonesian journalists on rotation through a narrow parking space.
