There will be 2 new color choices available to add on to its current silver and black lineup. The Chiffon Green and Bronze Garnet are available for all trims while the High Line has an exclusive color which is the Brilliant Red. Proton offers a 2 year or 50,000 km manufacturer’s warranty and an extended 3 years or 125,000km extended warranty for all new Proton Persona Elegance.
The car comes with the 1.6-litre Campro IAFM engine where you can choose to be paired with either 4 speed automatic or 5 speed manual transmission gearbox respectively while as mentioned, the High Line only comes with an automatic transmission gearbox. This engine is pretty much the ones which came with the first generation one. This engine gets you up to 110 horses at 6,500rpm and 148Nm of torque. with 110 bhp at 6,500 rpm and 148 Nm of torque from 4000 rpm.
This new facelift version also comes with a new body-kit, a nice looking front grille, LED tail lights as well as new bumpers too. According to Proton, they have added in new soundproofing to ensure better comfort and quieter drive inside the car. The body kit, fog lamps, and side mirror mounted indicator lights and the new rear spoiler are only available in the Middle and High Lines and not in the Base Line model.
The car also comes with a customized single CD player by long time Proton partner Blaupunkt which comes with also comes with bigger ergonomic buttons and an USB connection. On the Medium and High Lines you will also get a GPS Navigation unit while the High Line also gives you leather seats and trims, a remote control for operating the boot as well as a cruise control system. It’s a pity that the Base Line do not get any airbags as it only comes with the Medium Line (driver) and the High Line (driver and front passenger).
