Renault shows new Latitude in Moscow

Where this is concerned, they have been working with the Russian government under the Avtoframos partnership since 2005 where they have been successful in rolling out its facilities in Russia. The recent Renault-Nissan alliance, together with the partnership of AvtoVAZ in 2008 aims to command some 40% of the market share in the country by 2015. They are currently the fourth best selling brand in Russia where the Renault Logan is the best selling model under their umbrella.

It comes with a 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder CVT (Continuous Variable Timing) engine that comes with 139 horse. If you are looking for a more powerful version, then they have the 177 horses, 2.5 liter Nissan VQ V6 engine which is paired with a 6 speed automatic transmission gearbox. For the driver’s seat, you will get the automatic massage as well as a 3 zone climate control system. It also comes with a Carminat Tomtom navigation system while Arkamys and Bose power up the audio system.

Apparently, the design of the new Latitude is ‘borrowed’ from some Renault and Nissan models where the front design do resemble the very popular Renault Laguna while the rear design of this model gives you the Nissan DNA somehow. Renault will reportedly start selling the new Latitude in the Morocco and Algeria markets by the end of next month with Russia, Ukraine and Africa following suit after that.

It also comes with directional bi-xenon headlights, a hands free electronic key card that starts the car, controls the central locking and has automatic locking mechanisms. Other standard fittings include ABS, EBA (Emergency Brake Assist) and ESC (Electronic Stability Control) while you also get some 8 airbags too.

Apart from the new Latitude, Renault also announced that they are going to roll out 3 new models from its production facilities in Russia which are the Renault Fluence, the Renault Megane and the Renault Duster. The Fluence and Megane hatchbacks, which will be SKDs (Semi Knock Down) will be out in first 2 quarters next year will the second half of 2011 will see the CKD (Complete Knock Down) Duster version.
