This is where Saleen has taken the Dodge Challenger and instead of merely beefing up the engine and its performance, they have gone forth and gave the looks a totally new one. The body panels and such have all been changed heavily. To be honest, looking at the parts and its modifications, the 570X’s new body actually do look perfectly fitted. So confident of their products that SMS has given buyers their own warranties as well.
Under the hood is where the gem really is hidden. From its original 5.7 liter engine, SMS has put in more power here and has upgraded it to a 6.2 liter engine that gets you up to about 700 horses boosted through its micro-finned intercooler technology, which is SMS’s own patent pending artwork. Performance aside, you will like the look here.
Seriously, most critics and reviewers will be quick to summarise that this car do looks good and is powerful enough to be a supercar but some has given their take and questioned the need for a faster and meaner Dodge Challenger, hence it is justified here by SMS pretty much because it is way cheaper than say a Ferrari but performs superbly well as well. Pricing is around US85,000 which is one car anyone would love to have. Whichever way it goes, SMS had actually put their record to the test when they said they are not a tuning company. To have taken the Challenger and creating almost everything from scratch (not everything but close), it looks as if this is a totally different car altogether.
