One of their previous effort includes the Shelby GT350 and with that experience in hand, they have gone for bigger things and this is where they have turned towards the GT500. According to John Luft, the president of the company, they have used what they know over the past years and injected them into the new 2011 Ford GT500 where they rolled out a lighter and more powerful model. Hence, Shelby took what they have and improved on the capabilities of the new model while giving its looks a makeover as well.
Before rolling out their new SuperSnake, they have tested the package and they are confident that those who like a more powerful car from the stock GT500 would like Shelby’s interpretation. This is according to Gary Davis, the Research and Development’s vice president of production at the company.
They have put in white stripes as options as the original comes with black ones, which is cool enough actually. On top of that, you can also opt for the anthracite wheels in place of the chrome ones. Apart from that, it also comes with lowering springs, dynamic adjustable dampers as well as tuned stabilizer bars.
While they have yet to release the price for this crazy machine, you can expect it t cost more than USD30,245 for installation of the kit as that is the price they are charging for the 750horsepower package. This new 2011 version packs in 50 horses more (that’s a whooping 800 horses). It is paired with a 6 speed manual transmission gearbox and a Borla exhaust system. Shelby’s trademark can be seen through its rear deck lid, on the interior plate as well as on the headrests and floor mats too.
