The Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible pushes the bar way higher

Some of the highlights of this monster are its wider rear and the cool, aggressive 20 inch tyres that are fitted with a 10 spoke alloy wheels which comes with Pirelli Ultra High Performance, 275/35 ZR20 tyres. Of course, its twin elliptical exhaust tails gives the rear the neat looking end which will leave you utterly impressed.

Essentially, this would be a 4 seater top down model which pretty much is the crème de la crème with the usual DNA of a typical Bentley in terms of design where you get the luxurious satin-finished carbon fibre, the alcantara and ‘SoftGrip’ leather that greets you every time you enter the car. All Continental models (this one included) will be able to run on E85 bioethanol and petrol or both which by 2012 would make Bentley fully bio-fuel compatible.

Under the hood is where you get the out-of-this-world 6.0 liter W12 engine turbo charged that gets you up to 621 horses as mentioned. 4.2 seconds are all that is needed to get from zero to hundred while to get to 160 would take 9.6. This car top speeds at 325km/h through its ZF 6HP26 ‘Quickshift’ transmission. It also comes with Bentley’s CDD (Retuned Continuous Damping Control) system for better handling with its superior suspension and such.

This would otherwise be the most advanced drop-top model ever built, it drew the inspiration from the 1925 Bentley Supersports model which was the top ranged model then. That model was made for racing that came with a 3 liter engine giving 85 horses at a time when the standard industry standards were running on 15 horses or so. According to Dr Franz-Josef Paefgen, the Chief Executive and Chairman of Bentley, “"The new Supersports Convertible blends thrilling performance and dramatic styling with luxury and practicality in the Bentley open-top tradition. Extreme power combines with pioneering FlexFuel technology, now shared with all Continental models, reflecting Bentley`s ongoing commitment to more environmental motoring."

Bentley said that there would be 6 colours to choose from being Orange Flame, Magenta, Kingfisher, Citric, St James Red Pearl and White Satin. There is also the Convenience Pack which comes with an iPod interface, a massage chair for front passengers, rear-view camera, a valet key, Adaptive Cruise Control with a ‘Follow to Stop’ function as well.
