When anyone hears or sees a Lamborghini, it is usually with awe and admiration and that is exactly what they have done when they showed their latest model the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 recently. This would be the fifth generation of the supercar the Raging Bull seemed to have it all figured out. Calling it a ‘new reference’ for super sports car, they might be right-on with the claim as others would now have to top this. The 700 number here basically refers to the horsepower, if you really must know.
It has all the ingredients of what a super sports car should be, fast and powerful engine, lightweight body, excellent engineering and very importantly great looks. It is what the current and future sports car should be like and to top it off, it is not a concept model. In fact Lamborghini will be delivering the first LP700-4 to its customers come June this year. The engine is paired with their new ISR (Independent Shifting Rods) transmission gearbox which was specifically designed for this model. The idea of this gearbox was to build the fastest robitized gearbox as well as the most ‘emotional gear shift’. This seemed like the perfect mate to handle its 700 horses on its permanent all-wheel drive system.
It uses carbon-fiber monocoque material for its body which means that it is strong enough and yet light to offer the acceleration power. It is powered up with a 6.5 liter, 12 cylinder engine which gets you a whooping 700 horses. Weighing only at 1,575 kilograms, it is one of the lightest engines in its class clocking only 2.9 seconds to touch the century mark. Top speeding at 350 km/h, it is not all about power as fuel efficiency has been given a boost as well. In fact, they have reduced up to 20% of the fuel consumption and CO2 emission with this one while increasing the power of the package.
The car is 4,78 meters long and comes with an upward opening doors made also from carbon-fiber monocoque. This was first debuted in the Countach which have since been transferred and made more famous by the Diablo and Murcielago. Inside the car, they used high-quality and premium materials in its Italian artistry.
