The model today is 12 years old and has since sold more than 1 million units around the world where more than 40 countries (including Malaysia) are importing the hybrid from Toyota where United States remains as the biggest market. Like it or not, the Prius did start the whole ball rolling when it was first launched and since then, the ‘others’ have followed suit which surely include competitors like Honda (Civic Hybrid, Insight) and Nissan too.
Apart from the fact that it does not use too much petrol and actively involved in saving the environment, it comes with LED tail-lights which uses less power as compared to the usual light bulbs in our normal cars. Its design too have come a long way since its first ‘boxy’ version while they have also adopted a more contemporary look inside the car as well. Safety wise, it also comes with 7 airbags excluding one for the driver’s knee.
This hybrid also comes with a better engine as well as better handling where the handling and suspension systems have all been upgraded. Of course, at RM175,000 there are more choices that you can find but with a Prius, we say it exudes character. Typically it would be a price you can pay for quite a luxurious car but as mentioned, in a long run, this would surely be extremely kind to your wallet.
